Job Summary

 

The successful candidate will provide evaluation and treatment services for a variety of clients requiring the skilled care of a speech-language pathologist. Responsibilities will include evaluations, case management, and implementation of therapy sessions (individual and group) using evidence-based practice approaches. The primary caseload will consist of children ages 5-17. Daily documentation using an electronic records system is required (including evaluation reports, plans and treatment notes). The full-time position will require off campus collaboration with Greater Lafayette Area Special Services (GLASS) and supervision of graduate students in the MS-SLHS program. 


 

Required:

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited university; Indiana license to practice speech-language pathology and certificate of clinical certification; and Indiana educators license;
  • Three years of clinical service experience and one year of supervision experience
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practice for evaluation and treatment of communication disorders across a range of ages, disorders and cultural and linguistic differences
  • Knowledge of coding, billing, and reimbursement procedures and documentation for patient service delivery
  • Highly effective organization and time management skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and complete required paperwork in a timely manner
  • Self-motivated, works well on a team, and exercises sound judgement in prioritizing clients, families and students 
  • Ability to make decisions quickly and adjust as needs arise in a high pressure environment
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures to proactively resolve issues or improve processes
  • Skilled at collaborating and communicating to build relationships with individuals at all levels within and external to the university to support the clinical program’s needs.
  • Knowledge regarding effective clinical supervision of adult learners
  • Knowledge of policies regarding IDEA and related service provision
  • Current CPR certification
