Prof. Samantha Blackmon is seeking an undergraduate teaching assistant (UTA) to assist with games studies courses in the Department of English.
Applicants must be current Purdue undergraduate students in West Lafayette who have completed one or more of the following courses: ENGL 22002 Technology and Play, ENGL 28000 Games, Narrative & Culture, ENGL 33000 Games and Diversity, ENGL 33200 Games and User Experience, ENGL 34500 Games and World Building.
Essential duties: Monitoring the lab space in the Critical Play Lab (SC 279) during weekdays between 9am and 5pm for up to ten hours per week. While in the lab, the UTA will assist students with their projects, help with organizational tasks such as record keeping, and assist Prof. Blackmon with program administration tasks such as recruiting new students to the Games, Narrative, and eSports certificate.
Necessary skills: Basic knowledge of gaming hardware and computers/peripherals. Good interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred skills: Advanced knowledge of gaming hardware and computers/peripherals.
Hourly rate: $13.00/hour
