Job Summary
The Faculty Recognition Program in the Office of the Provost advances the national and international profile of Purdue University by ensuring its faculty members are nominated for, and receive, prestigious external awards and recognitions for their accomplishments in research, teaching and engagement.
The Student Assistant will provide support for the Faculty Recognition Program. They will independently perform administrative and reception functions; maintain databases on award opportunities and awards received by Purdue University faculty members; assist with the organization of events; prepare reports; handle special projects; and prepare various correspondence, promotional materials, and presentations.
Requirements
• Completion of sophomore year
• Advanced computer and related software skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.
• Drafting, proofreading, and editing skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to handle frequent interruptions, balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality
• Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail
• Ability to identify problems and implement or recommend solutions
• Ability and comfort with learning new software
Preferred
At least 1 year of experience in an administrative support role
Previous employment at Purdue University
