Job Summary

Now accepting applications for one open position on the Course Development Associate Team. This is a hybrid position that requires the candidate to be present on the West Lafayette campus during the Fall and Spring semesters. The position begins in the Fall 2025 semester and may continue to future semesters based on job performance. Priority is given to students who can work into the summer and subsequent academic years.

 

The interview process begins in late August 2025 for candidates.

  • HOURS: 10-15 hours per week, around your class schedule, only on weekdays between 8 am and 5 pm.
  • NOTE: Please include a cover letter with a resume when applying. In your cover letter, please state your major AND your strengths in engineering/STEM fields. (Note, non-STEM majors will also be hired, but we do have an engineering-specific need, too.)
  • The interview process will include a practical test to demonstrate your skills.

Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Work includes, but is not limited to, formatting MS Word Documents, MS PowerPoint presentations, and formatting pdf files, including alt text for images and proper formatting for all documents.
  • Other duties as assigned, including editing course details and proofreading in Brightspace.
  • Must be a go-getter who will come in, grab the work orders that are ready, and begin each day’s work on their own, with little extra guidance or interaction with others.
  • Employees should be able to work independently, check existing materials for format consistency, pay attention to detail, and collaborate well with virtual team members on large projects.
  • Work is done via your personal computer or a campus lab of your choice on the West Lafayette campus. When projects require formatting PDF files, access to Acrobat Pro is provided via department-owned laptops.
  • Accessibility formatting training will be provided as needed.
  • Communicate weekly on assigned projects using Trello and within scheduled Team Meetings
