Purdue Athletics Event Management Student Internship
The Purdue Athletics Event Management Department is committed to providing a safe, organized, and enjoyable game-day experience for fans, student-athletes, officials, community members, and corporate partners at all Purdue Athletic events. The department is seeking motivated Purdue students interested in pursuing careers in event management, sport management, or related fields to join our Event Management team during the 2026-27 academic year.
Under the direction of the Purdue Athletics Event Management staff, student employees will assist with the coordination and execution of Purdue Athletic events throughout the academic year.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the management and operations of home athletic events and special events.
- Serve as a team host for visiting teams, officials, and Big Ten/NCAA personnel
- Support guest services, event staff operations, game-day crowd management, and parking operations.
- Coordinate with various departments within Purdue Athletics.
- Assist with event setup and tear-down, including managing volunteers.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and respond promptly and professionally to guest concerns.
- Provide accurate and clear information to fans and stakeholders.
- Assist with office and administrative duties, as needed.
- Work outdoors and in varying weather conditions when required.
Qualifications
- Available to work on all home football games in the 2026 schedule.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
- Strong problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently when needed.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, carrying, and standing or walking for extended periods.
- General knowledge of athletics-related rules and regulations is beneficial.
Additional Information
- This position requires availability throughout the 2026–27 academic year, including all home football games and required trainings.
- Evening, weekend, and some holiday/break work should be expected.
- Students must attend two mandatory training sessions in late August to be eligible.
