Are you a credentialed veterinary technician who loves the nighttime hours? We’ve been looking for you! The Emergency and Critical Care team at the Purdue Veterinary Hospital needs your skills on the overnight shifts. As a teaching hospital supporting 15 different veterinary specialty departments, veterinary technicians in the ECC department have the opportunity to utilize all of their clinical skills working with a diverse caseload of patients. This team will work closely with DACVECC veterinarians, veterinary residents and interns, and VTS (ECC) technicians who offer team members the opportunity to learn and advance. With the prospect of working in both the Emergency Department and the ICU a variety of opportunities awaits! Credentialed veterinary technicians in the hospital are encouraged to work independently and utilize critical thinking skills to contribute to patient care. Team members are also supported in working towards their VTS and are mentored through the process.

What We're Looking For:
Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree from an AVMA accredited Veterinary Technology program
- Candidates must be registered in Indiana within twelve (12) months
Skills Needed:
- Ability to work under pressure in emergency situations
- Strong oral/written communication skills; ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to handle the physical and emotional aspects of work in a veterinary hospital environment
- Ability to lift and carry 25-50 pounds frequently and 60 pounds occasionally
Preferred:
- Teaching and computer experience
- Experience in a veterinary practice or veterinary teaching hospital
- Emergency or critical care experience
- Experience in emergency, multispecialty veterinary hospital or veterinary teaching hospital
- Experience in general practice
