Job Summary


What will you be doing as a Lead Cook?

  • Serve as a leader/coach/mentor for high volume food station in a large, multi-faceted, fast paced, collegiate food operation. 
  • Prepare recipes, food, and station materials alongside the station team that you are leading.
  • Continuously orients, trains, and serves as a mentor for full time employees in safety, culinary techniques, safe food handling, and equipment operation. 
  • Trains student employees in service standards, safe food handling, and food storage.
  • Works independently using expert culinary and organization skills. 
  • Communicates effectively throughout each shift with guests, employees, and supervisors.

Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Three years of food service, hospitality service, or high volume fast paced environment experience
  • A passion for food and culinary work
  • Stable work history and good attendance record
  • Knowledge of food sanitation, cross-contact, and allergy protocols
  • ServSafe Certification preferred, ability to pass within 3 months
  • Ability to pass AllerTrainU within 3 months of hire
  • Ability to perform basic math functions, lift and move up to 30 pounds, climb ladders, and stand, walk, reach and stoop extensively.
  • Ability to read, write, weigh, and measure.
  • Ability to meet daily deadlines by use of planning and organizing self and others
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others, particularly individuals from differing backgrounds and views.
  • Ability to pass the Food Handler’s examination

 

Preferred:

  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience in a high volume, fast paced environment
