Job Summary
The purpose of this position is to serve as an administrative clerk in the M.D Steer Speech, Swallowing, and Hearing Clinic. Coordinates the daily administration of the clinic schedules for the clinic’s clinicians, student clinicians, and clients. Maintain a master schedule for each semester, maintain schedule and adjust daily to changing needs, maintain and manage the flow of patients on waitlists while alerting clinic leadership of increased patient loads. Improves medical records by documenting all forms of insurance and Medicare information. Assumes responsibility to ensure pre-authorization, insurance billing, and payment compliance.

Required:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma/GED.
- Three years of experience in a clerical or administrative support role.
Skills Needed:
- Excellent customer service, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle frequent interruptions, balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail.
- Computer and related software skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.
- Typing, drafting, filing, data entry, proofreading and editing skills.
- Ability to identify routine problems and implement or recommend solutions
