Director, Undergrad Student Recruitment

Job Summary

The Director for Undergraduate Student Recruitment is responsible for setting and implementing the strategy for undergraduate student recruitment in the School of Management.  In conjunction with the Office of Admissions, they the engage with all aspects of recruiting and yielding, including developing strategy for using Krannert controlled scholarships. With senior leadership, they will actively shape the profile of each entering class through various specialized student engagement programs (Larsen Leaders Academy, Brock Wilson Center, Business Opportunity Program, and Honors College). Craft and implement event strategy including planning and presenting on-campus summer bootcamps for grade school and high school students, and especially first-generation students, hosting school visits, participating in high school fairs, and planning and implementing Purdue for Me events.  Commission marketing assets and support the managing of the School’s undergraduate social media presence/networking for potential students. Oversee the Management Ambassadors program, a student organization that facilitates recruiting and hosting of prospective students.  Prepare an annual report indicating the range of programming and effectiveness of yielding activities conducted during the year.


Required:

  • Master’s degree, preferably in Management, Communications, Public Relations, Higher Education Administration or a related field. In lieu of degree, consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum experience of at least four years in marketing, recruitment or public relations
  • Excellent oral and written communication, data analytics and collaboration skills 
  • Strong consistent interpersonal skills  
  • Ability to relate to senior high school students as well as college students, parents and guardians 
  • Ability to interact with a diverse clientele  
  • Ability to supervise administrative staff, support staff and student workers  
  • Ability to work cooperatively with the Dean's Office and areas internally and across campus  
  • Ability to represent the university and school to prospective students and others
  • A valid US or Canadian driver's license


Preferred:

  • Experience in student recruitment or student services
