Sr HR Business Partner

Job Summary

The Senior HR Business Partner serves as a strategic advisor, collaboration, and proactive consultant.  This role serves as a resource and advocate by providing solutions to meet individual or unit needs including conflict resolution, performance advising, talent development, and engagement strategies.  This position will actively collaborate with staff in the Information Technology at Purdue (ITaP) and Purdue Online to implement the people management practices and strategy.  This position acts as a catalyst for change, supporting units in the development and implementation of strategies, which enable the institution to thrive during periods of change.  Drives leadership and sponsorship for engagement activities and assessments, works with leadership to define, develop and maintain a culture that inspires and fosters faculty and staff engagement.  Ensures that alignment and delivery of HR strategic and service delivery needs are met across multiple HR functions.  Collaborates with Compensation, Talent Acquisition, Benefits, and Leadership and Organizational Development to diagnose needs and propose solutions. 

 

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • Four or more years of HR generalist or business partner experience.
  • In-depth knowledge in one or more Human Resource specialty areas such as compensation, recruitment, training, organization development, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Analytical and data management skills with the ability to translate data into action planning
  • Demonstrated successful experience in influencing people at a senior level in an organization
  • Skills in drawing actionable insights from raw information and data
  • Demonstrated successful experience in influencing people at a senior level in an organization
  • Skills in drawing actionable insights from raw information and data
  • Demonstrated success advising and providing consultative support to leaders across multiple levels
  • High level of self-initiative and sense of urgency coupled with a strong customer service orientation
  • Successful track record of delivering impactful HR programs and initiatives directly tied to strategic business goals

Preferred:

  • SPHR or PHR certification
  • Experience delivering strategic and tactical HR support and programs in a fast-paced technology and data-driven environment
