PMU Events Events Intern - Student Clerical

Job Summary

The Events Concierge Intern serves as the on-the- floor liaison between the Events Office and the client. Responsible for communicating and following through with changes in and requests for day-of-event client needs based on standard operational process and practice.  Responsible for reporting back to Event Planners issues related to the on-site groups. Also responsible for the successful planning and execution of small events and tracking client satisfaction to ensure customer expectations are met at a high level.

Additional Operational and Experiential Opportunities

  • Learn and practice how to assess and qualify an event
  • Research and develop an events evaluation instrument and track responses for annual reporting
  • Observe and participate in client site-visits
  • Act as a client engagement and connection point for catering guarantees
  • Participate in meeting and banquet space setups to understand its connection to a successful event
  • Attend BEO and Operations meetings
  • Assist and participate in wedding (Bride) discussions, planning and execution of the event in conjunction with a Wedding Specialist
  • Study, learn and work within Delphi, an industry leading hotel, resort and banquet software
  • Executing small events from assessment to booking through billing
  • In partnership with Catering learn and be involved in front of house, back of house and off-premise experiences

Interns will be expected to participate in a minimum of 20 hours per week.  This can include office time, catering floor shifts, Setup Crew work shifts, after-hours with client, meetings, etc.  Intern understands that a set schedule will not always be possible based on client responsibility and tasks assigned.  Weekend hours may be necessary.  Managing for-credit hour requirements is the responsibility of the intern.
