Job Summary

The staff scientist will operate and maintain the JXA-iHP200F FE-EPMA laboratory and other relevant electron microscopy instrumentation, provide technical training to researchers, students, and external collaborators, support cutting-edge research in Earth, planetary, and synthetic materials, work as a member of the Purdue Electron Microscopy Center, and professionally liaise with external collaborators to strengthen academic, industry, and government partnerships.

What We're Looking For:

• Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in materials science, planetary science, geoscience, chemistry, or a related field
• Two or more years of expertise in electron microscopy and/or microanalytical techniques (e.g., EPMA, SEM, FIB, TEM, etc.)
• Proficiency in JEOL software and PROBE for EMPA software to conduct advanced microanalysis and data processing
• Strong organizational and communication skills to thrive in a multidisciplinary team and coordinated research environment
