Academic Services Coordinator

Job Summary

The Academic Services Coordinator works with department leadership, faculty, and the Office of the Registrar to develop and publish the academic unit’s course schedule for all academic terms. Responsible for processing student requests to change degrees/majors and coordinates student requests to transfer credits (includes meeting with students). Works with faculty and staff to produce required accreditation documents. Maintains files of reports of incomplete grades and responds to questions from students regarding grade inquiries. This position enables the academic unit to stay current on University policies, procedures, and deadlines, including those related to International Students and Scholars.

 

Required:

  • High school diploma 
  • 3 years of relevant work experience.  
  • Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Excellent communication skills.  
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets
  • Ability to learn and become proficient with Cognos Database Query, Curriculog, and Banner.  
  • Able to work independently with limited supervision
  • Able to use sound judgment in making decisions
  • Able to perform analysis to understand and resolve issues, and independently develop solutions or recommendations for problems requiring higher-level approval.

 

Preferred: 

  • Familiarity with academic scheduling tools and concepts, programs, procedures, policies, and the admissions and transition-to-major processes. 
  • Knowledge of Cognos Database Query, Curriculog, and Banner.
