Job Summary
Provides high-level administrative support to an individual, department, program, or other administrative function. Independently performs complex and non-routine administrative responsibilities requiring sound judgment, discretion, and a thorough understanding of departmental operations.
Key responsibilities may include coordinating events and meetings; researching and compiling information; preparing reports, correspondence, promotional materials, and presentations; monitoring operating budgets; and maintaining financial records. The position serves as a resource for internal and external stakeholders by resolving non-routine inquiries and issues, while providing functional or administrative oversight to other support staff. This role may also lead assigned programs, special projects, or department-wide initiatives.

Education and Experience
Qualified candidates will need:
Requires a high school diploma/GED.
Minimum of four (4) years of experience in an administrative support role
Skills needed:
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to handle frequent interruptions, balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail.
Advanced computer and related software skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.
Ability to collaborate and communicate with individuals at all levels within and external to the university to support department needs.
Ability to interpret policies and procedures to proactively resolve issues or improve processes.
Ability to identify problems and implement or recommend solutions.
Drafting, proofreading and editing skills.
Ability to lead others and provide direction and constructive feedback.

The anticipated annual salary for this position is $21.40- $26.00 hourly commensurate with the candidate’s education and experience. The final salary offer will be determined based on a variety of factors, including equity, available budget, educational background, and relevant experience.
