Job Summary
Join Purdue University and help support the care, learning, and discovery that move animal and human health forward. In this hands-on role, you will monitor and maintain the physical and environmental conditions of both large and small animals in a research or clinical setting. You will feed, water, groom, bathe, exercise, and provide daily care that supports animal welfare and high-quality operations. You will also evaluate animal conditions, collect and record data, clean and maintain animal environments, order and stock supplies, and follow approved protocols and standard operating procedures. What We’re Looking For:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma/GED
- 2 years of custodial/Laundry experience and 1 year of animal handling
- Valid US or Canadian driver's license
Skills Needed:
- Must be able to read/write English
- Ability to work without close supervision
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Must be able to operate power tools
- Must be able to lift and carry 25 to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Must be comfortable working around small and large animal species: may include, but not limited to, dogs/cats/horses/cattle/goats/sheep/llamas
- Valid US or Canadian driver's license
What is helpful:
