Assistant, Associate or Full Professor of Engineering Practice in Materials Engr/Engr Education

Job Summary

The School of Materials Engineering and the School of Engineering Education at Purdue University invite applications for a non-tenure track Faculty of Engineering Practice position at all levels (Assistant, Associate or Full Professor). Purdue University seeks to attract exceptional candidates with expertise in materials engineering along with experience and passion for scholarship of teaching and learning. Successful candidates must hold a Ph.D. in an engineering discipline, with at least one degree (BS, MS, or PhD) in Materials Science and Engineering or a closely related discipline, and demonstrate a commitment to improve education both within the School of Materials Engineering and across the College through the School of Engineering Education. The successful candidate should have experience with modern computational or experimental tools associated with materials engineering design and materials selection, and the experience or ability to bring authentic problems in industry into the classroom. Responsibilities will include teaching in the School of Engineering Education's First Year Engineering program, teaching courses in the School of Materials Engineering, and engaging in both School's experiential learning programs (e.g., EPICS, study abroad, etc.).     

School and College

The School of Materials Engineering (MSE) at Purdue University is known for its collaborative and interdisciplinary environment, with strengths across the broad spectrum of materials, and facilities for their study by experimental and computational methods. MSE has over 30 faculty, 200 undergraduates and 170 graduate students.   

 

The internationally known School of Engineering Education (ENE) serves the College of Engineering’s 3000+ First-Year Engineering students, and is home to the Multidisciplinary Engineering and Interdisciplinary Engineering Studies programs with 100+ undergraduate students, and the Engineering Education graduate program with 60+ students.

 

MSE and ENE are integral parts of Purdue’s College of Engineering.
