Assistant Director, Purdue Systems Collaboratory

The Assistant Director for Purdue Systems Collaboratory (PSC) is part of the managerial leadership team that implements PSC’s vision and fosters the interdisciplinary collaboration with a wide range of academic units across Purdue University.  The assistant director oversees day-to-day activities of the Collaboratory, manages the interface between faculty, staff, students, and is responsible for timely and accurate reporting to the leadership team.  Additionally, the assistant director represents the Collaboratory at functions when delegated by PSC leaders, provides leadership and supervision in organizing and managing special events, and devises and implements plans for development, marketing, and communication of PSC within the academic and industry communities.



  • Master’s degree in engineering, science, business, or related fields
  • Four (4) or more years of project management and strategic planning experience
  • Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience
  • Demonstrated experience in developing strategic plans
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others to work collaboratively to resolve problems, make decisions, and achieve goals of the organization
  • Ability to plan and manage complex projects including fiscal planning and budgeting
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in prioritizing and executing multiple tasks
  • Understanding of complex societal problems and global grand challenges 



  • Experience working in a university environment
  • Academic advising experience
  • Working knowledge of Purdue University operations, policies, and procedures
