Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Well-Being Programs, the Assistant Director for Financial Well-Being works to develop, oversee, and administer educational, comprehensive, and progressive financial education programs and initiatives.  They will achieve this by developing and cultivating relationships with campus and non-campus constituents. 

This position will work to meet the demands of the university community, while also promoting Well-Being Programs’ mission through the development and implementation of financial education programming policies and procedures.  The Assistant Director for Financial Well-Being will provide leadership in hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating part-time student staff in their coaching, presentation and engagement efforts. 

Outreach and engagement efforts will be achieved in partnership with the Senior Assistant Director of Well-Being Engagement and Assistant Director for Financial Education Programs Integration and Engagement. They will be responsible for regular assessment to measure effectiveness and implement new initiatives based on industry trends. They will participate in budget allocation and program outreach efforts. Some evening and weekend work is required.

What We’re Looking For: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in areas such as financial counseling/planning, finance, business education, or related fields.  
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant experience with financial education. 
  • Can consider direct undergraduate or graduate experience.
  • Ability to independently manage all aspects of comprehensive a financial education program. 
  • Must display ability to establish long and short term goals consistent with the mission of the university and the division. 
  • Ability to design and manage programs to meet the needs of a large, multi-dimensional department. 
  • Must show ability to build, develop, and cultivate relationships across campus with a variety of constituents. 
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and implement employee training sessions and supervise a student workforce. 
  • Successful candidate will be self-motivated, energetic, service-minded and adept at solving problems. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse constituents. 
  • Must possess strong communication (written/oral) as well as interpersonal skills. 
  • Proficient with computer software (word processing, spreadsheet, electronic communication, etc.).
