Assistant Director Student Services - Master's Programs

Job Summary

Reporting to the Associate Director of Student Services, this full-time Academic position will assist in the direction, planning and operation of the Krannert Master's Office Student Services and Development Department.  This position will require understanding and knowledge of all Krannert graduate program requirements and proficiency in university policies and procedures related to academic advising.  The Assistant Director will lead the Krannert Graduate Assistant program and the Electronic Plan of Study (EPOS) program for all Krannert Graduate students.

 

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business/Management, Higher Education, Student Development or related field
  • Two or more years of academic advising or higher education experience
  • Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and written/oral communication skills
  • Ability to plan for, manage and execute events, programs, and administrative processes
  • Ability to attend to details and provide excellent customer service
  • Ability to supervise graduate assistant and undergraduate student staff
  • Ability to interact positively with a diverse population, collaborate across organizational departments, think creatively and work independently
  • Ability to assist students with academic and personal circumstances and issues
  • Working knowledge of conflict resolution and the ability to identify and assist at-risk students
  • Maintain confidentiality and have/obtain FERPA certification
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends

 

PREFERRED:

  • Master's Degree
  • Experience working with diverse populations, leadership development programs, event/program management in a higher education setting
  • Experience responding to students with academic or personal difficulties

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Purdue will not sponsor work authorization for this position
  • Occasional evenings and weekends may be required for this position
  • A background check is required for employment in this position
  • FLSA:  Exempt (Not Eligible for Overtime)
  • Retirement: Defined Contribution Waiting Period
