Assistant Director of Compliance

Job Summary

As the Assistant Director for Compliance, this position will coordinate monitoring activities of NCAA, Big Ten and University rules and policies as well as monitor and educate our staff on the NCAA, Big Ten and Purdue University rules and policies.  This position will also provide research and recommendations via interpretations or through educational outreach to various constituents, including coaches, staff, student-athletes, donors and fans.

 

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2 years of compliance-related work experience in intercollegiate athletics
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret, instruct and effectively communicate complex rules, regulations and policies from the University, Big Ten Conference and NCAA
  • Ability to effectively communicate with coaches, administrators, student-athletes, parents, faculty, staff, and high school staff members
  • Excellent communication (oral, written, presentation), planning, problem-solving, negotiation, organizational, analytical, and customer service skills
  • Interpersonal skills in dealing sensitively with a wide variety of constituents
  • Ability to influence and build work relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet established deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Possess a learning orientation to changing technology impacting business processes
  • Personal computer and related software skills, e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, Internet, etc.
