Assistant or Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering

Job Summary

The Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering at Purdue University is seeking a highly qualified individual with expertise in biomedical engineering and the application of pioneering scientific discoveries. Our school undertakes cutting-edge biomedical research combined with translation to clinical applications and community engagement for improved outcomes that are proactive, patient-centered, and wellness-focused. We seek top candidates regardless of their specific research area. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering or a closely related discipline. Post-doctoral experience is preferred. We are seeking applications at the assistant or associate level. The successful candidate will be expected to develop strong, externally funded research programs, develop and teach undergraduate and graduate level courses, perform service at the School and University levels, and help advance the frontiers of knowledge with current and future faculty affiliated with the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering. The new faculty member will have the opportunity to collaborate with numerous investigators in the Purdue Colleges of Engineering, Pharmacy, Science, Health and Human Sciences, and Veterinary Medicine, and the Indiana University School of Medicine. In addition, Purdue has established Discovery Park, a highly interdisciplinary enterprise dedicated to translational research that includes the Birck Nanotechnology Center, Bindley Bioscience Center and the Regenstrief Center for Healthcare Engineering. Tremendous opportunities for collaboration also exist with a wealth of local, regional, and international industry partners in the medical device, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical fields.
