Associate Director - Larsen Leaders Academy

Job Summary

The Associate Director (AD) is a competent and productive professional contributor who reports to the Director of the Larsen Leaders Academy in the Mitch E. Daniels School of Business. The AD works under general supervision and closely with the Director and Academic Director to manage the Larsen Leaders Academy (LLA).  LLA is a premier, business undergraduate leadership development program that develops leaders through a concentration of coursework and leadership development opportunities including, but not limited to immersive learning experiences (off-campus), experiential learning/consulting projects, mentoring, and other leadership development activities.  

 

As the AD you will facilitate positive relationships with corporate partners, Purdue alumni, and LLA alumni in coordination with the Business Partnerships Office, Alumni Relations, and Daniels School of Business Development/Donor Relations. There will also be a need to identify and select students who meet the criteria for acceptance into the Larsen Leaders Academy.  The AD will design and manage programs and events that contribute to the leadership development of LLA students.  These programs and events may include some travel to locations domestically and abroad.  There will be a need to build relationships with LLA students by mentoring them during their time at the Daniels School of Business.  

 

This position could be filled at multiple levels (P2 or P3). The hiring manager will determine the job level based on the skills, experience, and qualifications of the selected candidate.

Required:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, liberal arts, communication, psychology, hospitality, or a related field
  • Four or more years of related work experience in leadership development, event planning, mentoring, and program management or related field
  • Committed to a psychologically safe and inclusive environment; open to input and ideas of others; respectful of others; values diversity
  • Servant leader with a clear passion for student development and helping students grow to become their best 
  • Demonstrates creativity and innovative orientation
  • Able to conceptualize, design, develop, and implement leadership development experiences

 

Preferred:

  • Masters’ degree in a related field (e.g., MBA, MSHRM) with up to one year of experience
  • Coaching experience or certification
