Associate Director Management Undergrad Advising

Job Summary

Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management is excited to announce that it is looking for a candidate that has experience in working directly with undergraduates in an academic advising to become its next Associate Director of Undergraduate Advising.  As the Associate Director serves as a member of the Krannert School of Management Undergraduate Advising office leadership team and contributes to all major decisions impacting the office. The Associate Director plays a key role in executing the office’s/advising programming, supervises a team of professional advisors, manages multiple key initiatives, and advises students.


About Us:
The Krannert School of Management serves approximately 2,700 undergraduate students pursuing degrees in Accounting, Business Analytics, Information Management, Economics, Finance, General Management, Integrated Business, Engineering, Marketing, and Supply Chain and Operations Management. The Krannert School of Management’s Undergraduate Advising office is a team 16 professional staff members; each contributing to our mission to facilitate students’ success in designing and completing the plan of study that optimizes every student’s educational and professional objectives.

  • Master’s degree in student affairs, college student personnel, psychology, counseling, leadership, or related field. 
  • Four or more years of post-Master’s work experience in higher education 
  • Experience in working directly with undergraduates in an academic advising or related capacity
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, supervisory experience, or potential for supervision
  • Excellent verbal, public speaking, writing, and listening skills with the ability to articulate thoughts and ideas
  • Openness, inclusiveness, sensitivity to cultural differences, and the ability to interact with all people, understand individual differences, and relate with a diverse student population
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise sound reasoning to analyze issues and make data-informed decisions
  • Demonstrate personal accountability, effective work habits, and ability to handle multiple work priorities
  • Ability to work within a team structure while leveraging the strengths of others to achieve common goals
  • Ability to build and sustain relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Confirmed collegial style of leadership and ability to build consensus and collaboration utilizing strong interpersonal and listening skills



  • Knowledge of programs and majors at Purdue University preferred
