Associate Equipment and Materials Operator - Materials Management

Job Summary

The successful candidate will schedule and pick up University owned surplus in a timely and professional fashion. Follow all university policies, procedures and best practices in doing so.  Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times.  Keep the University Warehouse and Surplus Store neat and orderly.  Serve as backup to cashier when needed.  Identify and refurbish computers and monitors for re-sale. Perform triage on surplus, with the Universities best interest in mind.  Assist customers by answering questions, demonstrating items and loading of their vehicles at the Surplus Store.  Work with student employees and provide guidance and instruction to accomplish their work.  Maintain a safe work environment.

Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Two years’ experience in warehousing, inventory control, storekeeping, or related field
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 to 80 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs. occasionally
  • Ability to obtain a forklift license within 60 days.
  • A valid US or Canadian driver’s license

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with e-waste recycling, scrap metals, inventory control, and campus building
  • Experience driving a box truck
