Associate Teacher

Job Summary


Assist the Head Teacher in planning and implementing an early childhood education program for a classroom in the Ben and Maxine Miller Child Development Laboratory School. Under the supervision of the Head Teacher, support the daily operations of the classroom in the routines, communicating with parents, supervise teacher assistants, practicum students, and facilitate research.  

 

 

Required:

  • Bachelor in early childhood education, child development or related field. 
  • Minimum of one year experience providing care and early education for young children 
  • Candidates must be 21 years or older.  
  • This position requires a pre-employment drug screening test and a health assessment as well as running a criminal history background check. 
  • Knowledge of children's development; manage groups of children. 
  • Must be able to take initiative in implementing program goals and providing developmentally appropriate early childhood curriculum.  
  • Must be effective working with children and adults.  
  • Must be able to manage a classroom of young children through positive guidance. 


 

Preferred:

  • Teaching experience
