Associate Teacher

Job Summary


The Associate Teacher supports the daily operations of her/his assigned classroom.  This includes assisting the Head Teacher in establishing and maintaining a safe and supportive classroom environment, planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum, modeling best teaching practices, and supervising other classroom staff and Purdue students.  The Associate Teacher supervises the afternoon program for children and develops and maintains professional relationships with staff, parents, and students.


 

 

Required:

 

  • BA/BS degree in early childhood education, child development or closely related field 
  • One year teaching experience with young children     
  • Must be able to take initiative in implementing program goals and providing developmentally appropriate early childhood curriculum 
  • Must be effective working with children and adults.
  • Must be able to manage a classroom of infants and toddlers through positive guidance
  • First aid & CPR training required before starting
  • Candidates must be 21 years or older
  • This position requires a pre-employment drug screening test and a health assessment.

  • FLSA: Exempt (Not Eligible For Overtime)
