Job Summary

Gain experience and become efficient by assisting Assistant Athletics Director Sports Medicine and supervising team physicians with the delivery of athletic health care for ‎intercollegiate athletes and athletic teams.

 

This is a limited duration position, lasting 12 months.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • The Athletic Trainer Associate will be a member of the Purdue Sports Medicine Department working under the direct supervision of the Assistant Athletics Director Sports Medicine and team physicians to assist in delivering athletic health care for ‎intercollegiate athletes and athletic teams. Additional duties will include but are not limited to: ‎  

      *Assist in Providing service care given of emergency needs of student-athletes.

     * Assist in Providing immediate Rx rehabilitation for patients.

     * Assist in Providing supervision of returning student-athlete to athletic activity.

     * Assist in Providing appropriate documentation of care.

  • Assist in supervising athletic training curriculum students as assigned.
  • Assist in maintaining appropriate medical records for student-athletes health care.
  • Assist in executing administrative duties as assigned by the Assistant Athletics Director Sports Medicine
  • Assist to address other related health care problems as assigned by the Senior Associate Athletic Director, Performance and Sports Medicine and/or supervising team physician.

What We're Looking For:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or Master’s Degree from CAATE accredited athletic training education program
  • One (1) year experience in Sports Medicine, Physical Therapy and/or Athletic Training

 

Skills needed:

  • NATA-BOC certification and ability to obtain Indiana Athletic Training License, Indiana Physical Therapy License if employee has Physical Therapy Degree. 
  • Must adhere to and comply with Purdue University, Big Ten Conference, and the NCAA applicable rules policies, procedures, rules and regulations‎.

 

Nice to have:

  • Relevant work experience with collegiate athletics
