Benefits Administrator, Systems

Job Summary

The Benefit Systems Administrator is responsible for administering benefits and managing related systems and processes that are essential to providing the full array of benefit offerings to the university community.  As a subject matter expert for benefit systems and processes, this position will identify, implement, and manage operational activities associated with benefit enrollment system.  This position will develop solutions using automated systems and data to continuously improve the delivery of benefit programs to the university workforce.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Benefit Enrollment System - Manage, configure, and improve benefit systems and processes used for benefit enrollment, changes, and adjustments by keeping up to date on relevant policies, procedures, and processes.  Analyze data, interpret findings, troubleshoot, problem solve, and use project planning to implement process or system changes within the enrollment platform and other relevant HR or benefit systems.  Work directly with IT resources, benefits, payroll, taxes, finance, and others to identify and resolve problems.
  • Benefit System Testing - Develop, manage and execute benefit testing plan to be used when necessary, escalating issues and risks as required, working with necessary internal and external partners to successful completion.
  • Benefit Data - Complete data audits and compares regularly and as necessary to ensure benefit data accuracy and empower data drive decision making within benefits.
  • Customer service - Ensure responsive customer support and assistance to faculty, staff, retirees, dependents, departments, etc. for issues related to benefit processes and systems.
  • Communications, Brand Management, and Marketing - Communicate effectively (in both oral and written forms) and assist with development of customer service information (i.e., web resources, knowledge base, training materials).)

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
  • Three or more years of HR experience with experience in benefit systems, processes, and operations
  • Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of required education and related work experience
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills as well as ability to identify solutions for a variety of benefit systems related issues
  • Learning orientation to changing technology impacting benefit systems and processes
  • Experience with SAP or other HRIS system
  • Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills
  • Effective in presenting to small groups, large groups and one-on-one
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong communication skills along with comfort in engaging leadership and employee population
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organization and project management skills
