Job Summary
Purdue University seeks a Facilities Operations Manager to lead the administration of three landmark campus buildings—WTHR, BRWN, and CHAZ—ensuring these spaces support the learning, collaboration, and growth that define the Purdue experience.
The Facilities Operations Manager will guide a talented team of 6 in the stewardship of facilities maintenance, repair, renovation, and improvement projects, reviewing work for high standards and operational excellence. This role will champion building cleanliness and repair, monitor all utility systems, and enforce preventive maintenance schedules for optimal operations. Strategic responsibilities include budgeting and inventory control, alongside the opportunity to shape key access systems for campus safety and resilience.

What We're Looking For
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience is required
- Experience supervising a team required
- Experience should be in the broad area of building systems management, maintenance, renovation, construction, and upkeep
- Experience with policies and processes of Purdue Physical Facilities is a bonus
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered
Skills Needed:
- A deep understanding of facility management principles, practices, and best practices is essential
- Demonstrated leadership in managing a team of staff members
- Strong:
- communication and problem-solving skills
- project management skills in planning, executing, and completing various building renovation and maintenance projects on time and within budget, including familiarity with blueprints and planning documents
- Knowledge of contract management, procurement, and negotiation skills are valuable in ensuring that projects are executed as planned
- The ability to adapt to changing circumstances, emergencies, and evolving facility needs
- Familiarity with:
- the technical aspects of building systems, such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and security systems
- building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards

The anticipated annual salary for this position is $64,944.00 commensurate with the candidate’s education and experience. The final salary offer will be determined based on a variety of factors, including equity, available budget, educational background, and relevant experience.
