Business Analyst Lead – Procurement Services Division

 

Drive transformative change at a world-class institution as Purdue University’s next Business Analyst Lead in the Procurement Services Division. In this leadership role, you will strategically develop, implement, and manage the overall systems strategy that supports the University’s procurement operations—advancing both daily efficiency and long-term innovation.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the strategy for all systems under Procurement Services’ authority, ensuring alignment with University goals
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret data to optimize systems for both short- and long-term projects
  • Partner closely with leadership, ITaP, and Training teams to design, implement, and enhance systems, processes, and training programs
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of current systems to identify opportunities for improvement and modernization
  • Re-engineer business processes and integrate systems to maximize operational impact, presenting clear recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Coach, guide, and review the work of two talented team members, fostering growth and a culture of innovation
  • Serve as a change leader—championing improvements and ensuring seamless transitions across the division

This is a remote position, however, some on and off campus meetings will be required throughout the year. 

 

What We're Looking For

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Management, System Management, Information Systems, Project Management, Finance or Supply Chain Management
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience in the field
    • Experience analyzing data to support projects and initiatives with fact-based conclusions
    • Experience with managing and implementing projects with various stakeholders
    • Experience/working knowledge with IT commodities and creative, cost savings initiatives are a plus

 

Preferred:

  • experience with:
    • project management and various management tools 
    • eProcurement solutions and tools

 

 

Skills Needed:

  • Strong analytical skills- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, in particular the data analysis functions of Excel and ability to generate a management summary of data
  • Excellent technical skills and enthusiasm to improve those skills

Preferred

  • Knowledge of Ariba, Concur or other Purchasing/Procurement systems

The anticipated annual salary for this position is between $72,700 to $84,996 commensurate with the candidate’s education and experience. The final salary offer will be determined based on a variety of factors, including equity, available budget, educational background, and relevant experience.
