The Business Assistant will assist students and student organization advisors with travel, procurement, account management, and other business office functions. Provide training and instruction to student organization officers and advisors on various student organization business procedures. Business processes include registration of officers, deposit procedures, cash handling guidelines, event and travel planning, expenditure procedures and other university student organization policies. Will inform students on use and approval of Activity Forms for travel and events. Perform auditing and data entry of transactions to the student organization account system. Approve expenditures and generate reports. Build positive working relationships and provide excellent service to student organizations, advisors, University departmental staff, and vendors.

What We're Looking For:
Education and Experience
Qualified candidates will need:
- High school diploma/GED
- 3+ years of experience in customer service, as an account clerk, business, or other related field
Skills needed:
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to practice good time management, organizational skills and efficiently multi-task
- Ability to work under pressure, handle frequent interruptions, prioritize workload and meet deadlines
- Must demonstrate a willingness to learn and use own initiative to explore capabilities to enhance productivity and assume responsibility
- Ability to make sound judgments and observe confidentiality at all times is essential
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to explain policies and procedures to staff
- Ability to handle interruptions while meeting deadlines with accurate results and providing exceptional customer service
- Ability to problem solve and analyze issues
