Business Assistant, Senior

Job Summary

Serves as the dedicated business assistant for the Recreation & Wellness (Co-Rec) and other areas as assigned. Responsible for daily management of balancing cash & accounting transactions, reconciling income, and corresponding ecommerce transactions.  Duties include processing daily CRV’s, creating intramural invoice vouchers, Banner billings, and audit/code invoices to correct general ledger accounts. Assist with Crew Club financial agreements and reporting. Work collaboratively with departmental and business office staff, and other business units or areas. Perform various business functions to support the fiscal management process for Rec Well and other units as needed. Tasks include account management, procurement review and approval, and daily accounting. Serve as a resource for areas of responsibility.


  • High school diploma / GED
  • Three (3) years of account clerk or clerical business/bookkeeping experience
  • Experience maintaining spreadsheets and use of word processing for communication and documentation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail
  • Motivated individual with ability to efficiently multi-task, work under pressure, handle frequent interruptions, prioritize workload and meet deadlines
  • Thorough and professional with ability to identify and determine problems, analyze information and implement solutions
  • Committed individual to professional standards in any situation, representing  the University with tact and diplomacy while observing confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel



  • Working knowledge of University policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of SAP, Ariba and Concur
