The Business Assistant for Discovery Park District Centers and Institutes will collaborate closely with faculty, staff, students, and other business units to support fiscal management processes. Key responsibilities include assisting with travel arrangements, procurement, and general business office operations. This role is also responsible for managing and reconciling departmental purchasing cards. Serving as the primary point of contact for all travel and procurement inquiries, the Business Assistant will guide and support departmental personnel in navigating these processes. Additionally, the role acts as a liaison between customers and central offices and provides support for special financial tracking needs.
This position is fully remote.

Education and Experience
Qualified candidates will need:
- High school diploma/GED
- 3+ years of account clerk, bookkeeping, business office or related experience
- Must have experience in providing a high level of customer service
Skills needed:
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, analyze information, and implement effective solutions
- Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to take initiative, assume responsibility, uphold quality standards, and handle confidential information with discretion
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail
- Skilled at building and maintaining positive working relationships across a diverse workforce and at all organizational levels
- Highly adaptable and flexible in dynamic work environments; able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proficient in analyzing, interpreting, and applying policies and procedures
- Technically proficient with personal computers and related software, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, internet, and databases
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn and adapt to evolving technologies
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the analytical ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Able to prioritize tasks effectively, stay organized, and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
What is helpful:
- Two years of University business office experience
- SAP, SuccessFactors, MS Office skills/experience with emphasis on Excel
