Business Manager, Polytechnic

The role of Business Manager will provide effective and efficient financial management and business services to assigned academic units located in KNOY Hall including Computer Graphics Technology (CGT), School of Construction Management Technology (CMT) and the School of Engineering Technology (SOET).  The Business manager will collaborate with unit heads, college Director of Financial Affairs and business office colleagues to design, implement and manage current processes and new initiatives.  There will also be a need to ensure the ongoing financial health of units while assisting department heads with the alignment of resources with departmental, college and university strategic priorities. The Business Manager will provide proper interpretation of University, Federal and sponsoring agency policies and procedures.  They will also authorize and approve business activities, financial transactions, and provide oversight of operation center teams as assigned.

 

Required:

  • Bachelor degree 
  • Three years business administration or financial management experience
  • Supervisory experience  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, planning, leadership, budgeting, financial analysis, problem-solving, organizational, project management, and customer service skills
  • Ability to influence and build strong working relationships at all levels
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and implement University policies and procedures
  • Ability to foster a participatory supervisory style that utilizes collaboration and teamwork to successfully guide the work of others
  • Learning orientation toward changing technology impacting business processes
  • Proficient in following software: Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook


 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor degree with course work in: Business Administration, Management, finance or related field
  • Six hours of accounting required
