Campus Tours & Ambassador Coordinator

As the Campus Tours & Ambassador Coordinator, you will; support the day-to-day activities and logistics of the Purdue Office of Admissions and Boilermaker Station Welcome Center and make all guests to Purdue feel welcome to the university. The Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with all tour programs administered by the Office of Admissions. This includes Daily Visits, Group Visits, and other miscellaneous tours. The Coordinator will have a great understanding of each tour program to support professional and student staff alike. You will be responsible for opening the office each morning and maintaining inventory of supplies for the front desk. Additionally, you will assist with event-driven logistics for the Office of Admissions and Boilermaker Station Welcome Center. Coordinate with office and campus partners regarding logistics on events sponsored by other campus areas that affect the operations of the Office and Welcome Center. 

 
Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • One year of general customer service experience.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Strong oral and written communication, including telephone etiquette, planning, public relations, and dissemination of messages and reports. 
  • Excellent customer service skills and professionalism in dealing with external business partners, students, faculty, and staff. 
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build working relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail. 
  • Motivated individual with ability to efficiently multi task, work under pressure, handle frequent interruptions, and meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to identify and determine problems, analyze information, and implement solutions. 
  • Capable of taking initiative, assuming responsibility, and handling confidential information with discretion. 
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to a team environment. 
  • Valid driver's license is required and employee will be subject to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.

 

Preferred:

  • University admissions and event logistics experience
  • Experience and passion for working with students.

 

Additional Information: 

  • Purdue will not sponsor an employment related visa for this position.
  • A background check will be required for employment.
  • FLSA: Exempt (Not Eligible for Overtime)
  • Retirement Eligibility: Defined Contribution Waiting Period.
