Career Center Coordinator
Job Summary
The position is responsible for overseeing the administrative duties and details associated with the HTM Career Center. Responsible for initiating contact with industry recruiters for campus visits to conduct interviews with students for management-level positions upon graduating from the HTM program. The coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the visits including travel, rooms, scheduling, and other aspects of campus visits. In addition, this position provides guidance to students while preparing them for corporate interviews and internships. Coordination of program internship requirements is an important element of this position, requiring ongoing contact with students and internship sites to facilitate the effective administration of internship requirements. This position also takes an active role in students' professional development conducting workshops, and student appointments and assisting in course delivery.
Required:
- High school diploma/GED.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a high-level administrative support role.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, customer service focus and the ability to work with corporate level personnel, faculty and students
- Must have excellent organizational skills, able to handle interruptions, balance multiple and varied tasks, work under pressure, prioritize, handle confidential information with discretion and work independently.
- Good judgement, organizational and time management skills are essential.
- Strong customer service skills and the need to make sound judgements and communicate at all levels are necessary.
- Must be professional, poised and self-assured when representing the school and interacting with a diverse group of individuals both internal and external to the University.
- Must be able to provide guidance to students while preparing them for corporate interviews and internships.
- Event planning experience and CRM experience a plus.
Preferred:
- Associate degree in communication, business, supervision or related field
- Previous student services, academic support or career development experience Supervisory experience
