Category Analyst - Procurement Services

Job Summary

The Category Analyst will complete the entire procurement lifecycle of all contracts with enterprise impact (within the Analyst’s assigned portfolio of goods and/or services) from acquisition planning through contract closeout. Facilitate solutions with project leadership, customer and technical staff to ensure a clear scope of work reflects in solicitation documents, a clearly defined evaluation timeline and process is established, and a savings estimate is established. 
The Category Management team collaborates with other Procurement Services’ teams in the following ways: 

  • Collaborates with Strategic Sourcing on sourcing plan regarding contracts with enterprise impact
  • Ensure university processes and standards are met.


  • BA/BS preferably in business, management, finance or supply chain management.
  • Two years’ experience, preferably within a public or private procurement or contract management program
  • In lieu of a degree, consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience. 
  • Skills using an enterprise procurement system
  • Excellent organization, problem solving and negotiation skills
