Clerk - Client Liaison Representative

Job Summary

Responsible for facilitating Small Animal Hospital veterinary clients’ needs throughout their entire visit including communicating with the service they are seeing, processing paperwork, handling financial transactions and scheduling.  Demonstrates a strong working knowledge of service departments and other veterinary hospital workflows and processes in order to provide excellent service to customers and patients.  Liaison will be responsible for preparing client bills with all appropriate discounts applied and collecting on current and past due bills.  May be cross trained in Large Animal Reception.  Some weekends and evening hours may be necessary and some holidays are required; schedule determined based on business need.

 

Required:

  • High school diploma / GED
  • Three years of customer service and/or office experience
  • Must have basic computer knowledge; ability to use Microsoft Word/Outlook/electronic email and complete data entry
  • Skills in telephone etiquette, filing, customer needs assessment, basic math and cash handling (including balancing a cash drawer)
  • Good verbal comprehension, multi-tasking and ability to work under pressure 
  • Public relations and people skills essential
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills essential
  • Requires confidentiality, attention to detail and decision making skills
  • Ability to read/write English

 

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of medical terminology
