Clerk - Client Liaison Representative

Job Summary

The successful candidate will learn and become efficient in facilitating veterinary clients’ needs throughout their entire visit including communicating with the service(s) the patient is seeing, processing paperwork, handling financial transactions and scheduling appointments. Develop a strong working knowledge of service departments and other Hospital workflows and processes in order to provide excellent service to clients and patients.  

 

Assist and become efficient in preparing client bills with all appropriate discounts applied and collecting deposits on admitted patients, collecting remaining balance on discharges and collecting on past due bills.  Liaisons will maintain confidentiality at all times per hospital policies, learn to determine urgency of emergencies that enter lobby and use critical thinking to find alternative solutions for upset clients.

 

This position is mainly 8am-5pm but will be on rotating schedule for the opening shift; requiring start of day to be 7:15am (subject to change).  This position would assist to back up the RDVM desk, front reception desk and/or phone desks when needed.  

 

Must be able to perform a variety of miscellaneous duties as assigned.  The possibility exists to be cross trained in Large Animal Reception.  Be willing and able to attend monthly staff meetings, back-up shifts for weeknight and/or weekends will be necessary and some holidays will be required.

 

This posting may be filled at multiple levels (S1 or S2). The hiring manager will determine the job level based on the skills, experience, and qualifications of the selected candidate.

 

S1 requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1 year of clerical or customer service experience, preferably in a medical clinic or veterinary office

 

S2 requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 3 years of clerical or customer service experience, preferably in a medical clinic or veterinary office

 

Required:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Proficient data entry skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to use computer
