Clinical Professional Instructor

Principle Duties:

Purdue University’s School of Hospitality & Tourism Management (HTM) is seeking a Clinical Professional Instructor, with a broad background in restaurant management, beginning in August 2020. Applicants must be committed to excellence in teaching and restaurant operations. The duties performed by this individual include teaching management and leadership concepts, menu planning and marketing, and food production and service as part of instructing the students in the foodservice labs (HTM 29101 and HTM 49200) and the corresponding lectures.  This person will also assist in planning, preparing, and serving meals at University, College, and Departmental special events.  The individual selected will also be expected to advise student groups, serve on various committees, and participate in community engagement.

Qualifications:

Applicants must have three to five years of meaningful management experience in foodservice with emphasis on restaurant operations. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or culinary school is required; culinary educator certification and teaching experience is preferred.
