Job Summary
The Licensing Advisor is an entry-level professional responsible for supporting regulatory compliance and licensure processes for Purdue’s Teacher Education Programs. Under the general supervision of the Senior Licensing Advisor/Officer, this role provides guidance and resources to faculty, staff, academic advisors, professional educators, administrators, and teacher education students to ensure ongoing program compliance with state and federal licensure standards, regulations, and university policies. The Licensing Advisor designs and maintains resources—such as Brightspace courses, websites, and program documents—to assist students in achieving academic milestones and licensure requirements.
This position serves as a liaison with the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) and collaborates with federal and state licensing agencies to address licensure issues and implement actions resulting from federal regulations. The Licensing Advisor certifies and credentials program completers for educator licenses in Indiana, other states, U.S. territories, and internationally. Additional responsibilities include coordinating licensure support across more than 40 academic programs and contributing to workflow, training, and recordkeeping standards to ensure program integrity and student success throughout their academic and professional journeys.

What We Are Looking For:
Education and Experience
Qualified candidates will need:
- Minimum BA or BS required in P-12 Education, Higher Education, STEM, Learning Design Technology, Business, or closely related fields.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of prior, full-time experience in compliance, project coordination/management, data management/stewardship of large datasets, instructional design/technical writing, P-12 instructional and/or administrative leadership within a professional setting required.
- Knowledge of teacher preparation, federal/state licensure standards/rules, higher education, and/or regulatory adherence and/or oversight preferred.
Skills needed:
- Requires regulatory knowledge and the capacity to advance and apply that knowledge accurately and pragmatically. Possess strong project management skills, technological efficiency, and adaptability.
- Excellent analytical abilities, oral/written communication, time management, and strong interpersonal skills to function both independently, within a small, highly productive, team environment, large and varied university personnel and students (prospective, current, and former), and external agencies and clients.
- Advanced attention to details, problem-solving, ability to respond to shifting and potentially complex contexts and thrive within established protocols and timelines as defined via a production/workflow schedule and deliver quality work under deadlines required.
- Advanced expertise in MS Office Suite, Outlook, etc. and various data systems management i.e., Banner, COGNOS, Brightspace, etc., and data analysis required.
- Capable of learning and innovating to increase efficiency and data quality.
