Job Summary
Purdue University and the Mitch Daniels School of Business invite applications for the position of Content Specialist. This role offers the opportunity to advance the communications and marketing efforts of a leading business school by developing thoughtful, audience-centered content that reflects the strength of our academic programs, faculty expertise, research, and institutional priorities. Working across digital and print platforms, the Content Specialist will help articulate the school’s mission and distinct value to prospective students, alumni, faculty, and external partners. The ideal candidate will bring strong editorial judgment, a collaborative approach, and an appreciation for storytelling that supports recruitment, engagement, and the broader academic enterprise.
What you will be doing:
- Create and edit content for blogs, webpages, email campaigns, newsletters, social media, and ads to support marketing and recruitment efforts
- Interview stakeholders and collaborate across teams to develop compelling, on-brand storytelling
- Contribute to key publications, including Purdue Business Journal and Daniels Insights
- Support and execute the Daniels School’s overall communications strategy as part of the creative team
- Maintain and update website content, ensuring accuracy, tagging, and SEO optimization
- Partner with internal teams to execute content strategies and editorial calendars
- Mentor junior staff and supervise interns to support content development
- Perform additional duties as assigned

This position is hybrid, requiring a minimum of three days in the office on the West Lafayette campus.
The salary for this position starts between $56,000 to $65,000 annually, but will be set based on experience and skills
What We’re Looking For:
Qualified candidates will need:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field
- Two years of marketing or communications-related experience
Skills Needed:
- Excellent professional writing and communication skills
- A propensity for technology, creative thinking, and inbound marketing theory
- Positive attitude; doesn't get frazzled by multiple deadlines or large task lists
- Doesn't cut corners
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Highly reliable and time-managed, with honest self-knowledge of how to produce deep work
- Has an eye for detail, visual layout, and UX best practices, understanding their effects on content consumption
- Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals
