Dining Student Success Ambassador - Student Service

Job Summary

Provides leadership and supervision for assigned area within Student Success. Tasks involve leading the planning process and execution of project for assigned area, ensuring good communication with constituents and tracking/reporting metrics. Typical hourly commitment of as an Student Success Ambassador is approximately 10-12 hours per week.  Will be offered summer employment at the Student Success Manager discretion.  Acts as a student ambassador for Purdue Dining & Culinary by promoting student employment, gathering/reporting feedback and data requested, answering questions and staying current on Purdue Dining & Culinary services, participating in information fairs and recruiting efforts, and giving tours as needed.  Assists in operational support, employment tables, and the STAR program. Delivers flyers and other materials in Dining & Culinary. Attends events designated for Student Success Ambassadors such as Armed Robbery Training, Purdue for Me,  Fall Preview Days, Introducing Purdue, and admission events.  Aid in planning and execution of Jumpstart.  Aid the dining courts as a mentor for new associates and for shifts that are short-staffed.    Assists with the planning and execution of special events, staff retreats and trainings, and other events to support Dining & Culinary.


Customer Service and Image Employee Schedule

Presents and promotes a positive image of Purdue Dining & Culinary through business-like conduct, attitude and appearance.  Customer service-focused, exhibiting helpful, friendly and courteous service.



Returns to campus before the start of classes to attend training and work opening shifts. Remains on duty through last scheduled shift at the end of the semester. Attends all scheduled meetings and training sessions as directed. Demonstrates punctual, reliable and consistent attendance.
