Director, CARES Hub (Student Wellbeing)

Job Summary

The Director, CARES Hub will set and execute operational strategy to accomplish the mission of the CARES Hub: “To build Boilermaker Engineers by developing awareness, wellbeing, and community for undergraduate students through outreach, direct access to wellbeing resources, and community-building programs that prepare students to thrive in the College of Engineering.” The Director will be responsible for designing and implementing community-level wellbeing interventions as well as outreach for the CARES Hub. This position will also be responsible for hiring and co-supervision of embedded CAPS counselors and coordination with campus partners to advance the CARES Hub mission. This position will have a wide degree of latitude to tackle complex and nuanced challenges related to improving student wellbeing.

What We Are Looking For

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED:    

  • Master’s degree in public health, psychology, social work, higher education student affairs, or other discipline related to health and wellbeing
  • A minimum of 6-7 years of experience in public health, mental health, counseling, social work, program/project management, or related field
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered

 

PREFERRED:

  • PhD or PsyD in psychology or related field strongly preferred
  • Experience in a college mental health setting
  • Supervisory experience    

 

SKILLS:
REQUIRED:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Broad knowledge of public health, psychological services, and mental health issues/concerns among student population
  • Ability to interact with diverse employees and students across multiple levels of the organization
  • Ability to adhere to confidentiality requirements, as well as university policies and guidelines

 

PREFERRED:

  • Knowledge of resources and programs at Purdue University
  • Data query and internet skills, ability to analyze data, identify trends, and communicate impact
