Director, Culinary and Dining Business Systems

Job Summary

As the Director of Dining Business Systems, you will; have responsibility for overseeing the support systems of Purdue Dining & Culinary (PD&C), organizational structure, budget and support of student life activities.  Supervise 3-4 direct reports and 15-20 indirect reports. Establish data gathering policies and bench-marking standards for dining.  Develop and recommend staffing models.  Work with Director of Dining in recruitment and selection of professional dining staff.  Manage & analyze financial and satisfaction data.  Participate in planning and implementation phases of renovations.  Assist the Director of PD&C in the vision and planning of Purdue Dining & Culinary Strategic Plan.  Responsible for meal costing, meal labor hours and retail costing.  Reporting outcomes based on food procurement and staffing hours.  Prepare CBORD, Procurement, and supply chain reports.



  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management
  • Eight years of hospitality or dining services experience.
  • Competencies for this position are work standards, communication, experience in CBORD, SAP, and Quad point, interpersonal and intercultural relations, and decision making. 
  • Additional competencies include financial management, coaching and leading people, student leadership development, strategic thinking, and drive for results.
  • Ability to recognize and manage change effectively. 
  • Ability to make and execute decisions in a timely and effective manner. 
  • Knowledge of customer base, current trends in college and university food service, and general business management. 
  • Utilize departmental standards and teamwork in daily work activity.
