Director, Faculty Recruitment & Concierge Program

Job Summary

Develop, coordinate and implement faculty recruitment strategies. Co-design, coordinate, and implement effective dual career and relocation assistance strategies. Manage the college faculty recruitment and hiring processes to ensure search effectiveness and timeliness to hire the best, diverse faculty talent.  Contribute to faculty hiring planning plans and provide guidance and support to faculty search committees ensuring compliance of search and screen procedures, laws, and regulation. Lead dual career job assistance and relocation efforts for both current and prospective faculty in the college.  Direct the program team to assist with the preparation of the visa application for faculty, staff, and visitors within the college.

What We Are Looking For

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, organizational leadership, career development or closely related field 
  • Six (6) years of experience working closely with university faculty in a strategic or operations role (for example as operations/program manager, managing director, etc.) or other recruitment, business operations, or HR-related experience

 

PREFERRED:

  • Experience with recruitment and/or dual career programs in academic settings
  • Prior supervisory experience

 

SKILLS:

REQUIRED:

  • Advanced networking, time management, and written and oral communication skills
  • High-level interpersonal skills in building alliances and maintaining relationships
  • High level of comfort interacting with faculty and upper-level administrators
  • Excellent organizational and customer service skills
  • Ability to navigate complex issues with diplomacy
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • Must be creative, thorough, and professional
  • Ability to manage interruptions, and balance multiple and varied tasks
  • Proficiency with computer and common business software

 

PREFERRED:

  • Familiarity with job markets at Purdue University, the Greater Lafayette area, as well as Indianapolis
  • Familiarity with standard office procedures and Purdue University policies and procedures
