Director, Human Resources - Administrative Operations

Job Summary

The Director, Human Resources, serves as a leader in providing HR strategy, advice, and counsel to Administrative Operations. With over 1100 full-time staff, Administrative Operations supports the infrastructure of the University and is comprised of auxiliary services, environmental health and public safety, and physical facilities.  The role actively partners to address a variety of workplace issues and opportunities, diagnoses complex human resource or organizational development needs and serves as a liaison between the department and the Office of the Vice President for Human Resources. 

In this key leadership position, you will ensure the alignment of strategic HR and Administrative Operations needs with a heavy emphasis on organizational design, change management, compensation strategy, performance management, and staff recruitment. You will also directly lead two HR Business Partners.

This will be a challenging, yet attainable, role requiring the successful candidate to be fully cognizant of how to provide counsel to the most senior leaders in a complex and challenging environment across the full range of employment matters. 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field
  • Eight (8) years’ of progressive experience in human resources with demonstrated success advising, and providing consultative support to leaders across multiple levels
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Analytical and data management skills with the ability to translate data into action planning
  • Demonstrated successful experience in influencing people at a senior level in an organization
  • Skills in drawing actionable insights from raw information and data
  • Demonstrated success advising and providing consultative support to leaders across multiple levels

Preferred:

  • SPHR or PHR certification
