Director, Life Long Learning Programs

Job Summary

Reporting to the Associate Dean for Engagement, serve as Director of Lifelong Learning to develop and implement the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine’s strategic plan for administering continuing education programming for veterinary professionals, and educational programs for clients, stakeholders, and the general public. Independently, and in cooperation with faculty, staff, and Purdue Conferences, plan, develop, budget, deliver/implement, and assess the impact of existing and new educational and training programs. Implement programs (for 25-2,000 participants) through live, in-person conferences/events, live, synchronous, virtual conferences/events, and asynchronous online educational modules. Facilitate communications and foster relationships with internal and external constituents.

 

This position requires work on-site. Cover letter is preferred.

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Four years of experience in managing/ directing/developing/delivering educational/training programs; experience managing project budgets/finances; experience managing and supervising interdisciplinary project teams; and/or experience initiating, planning, and managing small to large scale events/ conferences     
  • Must be able to work as a collegial member of the Administrative Team
  • Ability to convey a service attitude toward a wide set of constituents including faculty, staff, students, alumni, guests of the College, and the general public
  • All interactions with faculty, staff, students, participants in the program, and other contacts must be performed consistent with the values of the College of Veterinary Medicine (namely, a collegial, polite, pleasant, welcoming, service-oriented, can-do, supportive, and inclusive attitude)
  • Must have the ability to effectively manage multiple projects  simultaneously, being detail-oriented, organized, dedicated, and results oriented
  • Must be able to implement strategic plans and collect/interpret impact metrics
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills are essential
  • Must be competent using virtual meeting tools (Zoom, Webex), the Microsoft Office Suite, including calendaring and email

 

Preferred:

  • Experience with both on-site, virtual synchronous, and online asynchronous programs
  • Experience marketing programs     
  • Experience with Conference/Event applications and software (CVENT, Whova)  
  • Experience with Adobe CC (video editing, Photoshop)
