What You'll be Doing:
Assist higher-level and licensed elevator mechanics in the maintenance, repair, and inspection of elevators and related lifting devices while developing skills within the elevator trade.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist higher-level and licensed elevator mechanics in the execution of maintenance, repair, and operational duties
- Participate in and successfully complete all required training, including the NAEC CET program and assigned in-house training; complete all required skills verifications, tests, and exams
- Develop and apply computer skills to support operations, including data collection, reporting, and documentation using computer and tablet applications
- Learn to read, interpret, and apply prints and schematics under the guidance of higher-level mechanics; assist with updates and modifications as needed
- Assist with preventive maintenance tasks and learn to inspect, maintain, and adjust elevators and lifting devices to ensure safe and reliable operation
- Gain experience using tools and equipment associated with the elevator trade, including mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic components, as well as safety testing (annual and five-year)
- Maintain regulated lifting devices in accordance with applicable codes, ensuring accurate recordkeeping and documentation
- Learn and apply applicable codes, standards, and procedures governing the elevator trade
- Assist with emergency response activities, including extrication, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment
- Utilize diagnostic tools, manuals, and testing equipment in the performance of assigned duties
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Position is subject to emergency overtime and 24-hour callback based on operational needs
- Work is performed under the direct supervision of higher-level and licensed elevator mechanics

What We're Looking For:
Education and Experience
Qualified Candidates Will Need:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Complete education with all associated course work and field verifications for advancement within 12 months
Skills Needed:
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations
- Basic and intermediate computer skills to include familiarity and competence with word processing and spreadsheets
- SAP, Work Manager, iPad applications experience
- Must be able to work from heights up to 150 feet utilizing, when necessary, fall protective equipment
- Must be able to lift and carry 100 pounds on an intermittent basis
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must be able to deal with stressful situations and incorporate code awareness, safety awareness and good judgment in the performance of duties.
