Job Summary
The Employer Outreach Specialist reports to the Executive Director of Business Career Services and supports the office’s mission: To empower students to achieve lifelong career success through professional development, relationship building, and career experiences. To partner with industry to create connections and employment opportunities and to serve as the trusted source of career outcomes data and the university landscape for the Daniels School of Business Community.
The Employer Outreach Specialist will establish strategic and mutually beneficial relationships with industry partners to increase the number of quality opportunities available for DSB students. The role will focus on expanding opportunities and may involve local, regional, and/or nationwide travel to cultivate relationships with companies. Consistent management and documentation of recruiting information, analysis of data, and collaborative decision making will be performed with leadership of one or more programmatic areas, which will be standard. Support of student organizations, academic departments/programs to manage recruiting events, city treks, and other corporate engagement opportunities between students and companies will be consistent and ongoing.
The ideal candidate will be a highly relational communicator who is diligent in preparation, execution, and follow-through. The selected individual must be organized, take initiative, pay close attention to detail, and value continuous improvement. Fostering collaboration with departments across the college and university with shared interests (Office of Business Partnerships, Alumni Affairs, CCO, Purdue For Life, etc.) is critical.

The starting salary for this position will range from $50,000 to $55,000 annually, based on experience and skills.

What We’re Looking For:
Qualified candidates will need:
- BS/BA degree
- Two years of related professional work experience in human resources, career services, program/event management or administration
Skills Needed:
- Relationship building, organizational and communication skills, and related technology platforms
- Decorum, confidentiality, and strong customer focus
